If your contractor is not on the approved list, they should contact smarte@ctgreenbank.com for Smart-E training.
Using multiple contractors? Select one to act as your general contractor. They will help facilitate this process for you.
- Select your home energy upgrade.
Your contractor will work with you to be sure the improvements meet our eligibility requirements.
- Get pre-approved by a participating lender.
Apply directly with your selected lender before your contractor begins the project.
- Close your loan with your lender.
Your lender will reach out to schedule a loan closing once the project is approved.

You're eligible if your residence is:
- 1-4 units (condominiums must be individually metered)
- Owner-occupied
- Your primary residence and located in Connecticut
- Mobile homes not eligible for Solar PV, Solar Hot Water and Geothermal.
You're project is eligible if you convert to natural gas and install:
- High efficiency natural gas furnace – 95% AFUE
- High efficiency natural gas hot water boiler – 90% AFUE
