Additional Details
Energy Storage Solutions is a statewide offer designed to help Eversource and United Illuminating (UI) customers install battery storage at their home or business. Benefits of on-site energy storage include:
- Backup power during power outages for critical appliances or systems
- Upfront and ongoing incentives for allowing your battery to be a power source for the grid
- A more resilient, secure Connecticut to help tackle climate change
Whether you have medical equipment that requires electricity, need to stay warm during a blizzard, or just want to keep the refrigerator running, a battery purchased, installed, and enrolled in Energy Storage Solutions may be the answer.
Energy Storage Solutions provides an upfront incentive to help offset equipment costs based upon the size of your energy storage system.
Once your battery is installed and enrolled in the program, your battery will be used to support resiliency of the grid during times of peak demand. For each kilowatt (kW) your battery contributes, you earn!
But don’t worry, if there is a predicted weather event that might result in outages in your area, your battery will not be called on to contribute to the grid for the two days prior to the event. So you will be ready with backup power, if needed.
