
Eversource and the Connecticut Green Bank helped design an award-winning, carbon-free home that is 40-50 percent more energy efficient than a typical new home, leaving the homeowners with a net zero energy bill.The Roosevelt House in Hartford, Connecticut, is Hartford Habitat for Humanity’s first home built to the Department of Energy’s Zero Energy Ready Home standards. It’s so energy efficient, it can offset all or most of its energy consumption.The project won the grand prize in the Affordable category of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Housing Innovation awards, beating out winners from around the country.
Eversource and the Connecticut Green Bank partnered with Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity (HAHFH), Home Energy Technologies, Posigen and to create a home for the future.
Eversource energy efficiency experts advised on the latest technologies and construction techniques including:

- ENERGY-STAR certified appliances
