On Friday, August 18, the Energize Connecticut Center will conclude its Renewable Energy Summer Series with a kid-friendly exploration on water energy.
The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Energize Connecticut Center, 122 Universal Drive North, North Haven (next to Panera Bread in the Target Plaza). It is free of charge and open to the public.
During the afternoon event, kids and families will learn how water generates energy and travels through our natural habitat. Project WET, an advocate of water education and solving water issues, and the Regional Water Authority will be on-hand providing interactive and hands-on activities and experiments, including:
•Interacting with a water discovery table
•Building a water wheel
•Demonstrating how hydro-electric power is created
•Exploring the Tidal Marsh Trail, adjacent to the Energize Connecticut Center
The Energize Connecticut Center’s family programming is designed to provide entertainment for children of all ages and their families while simultaneously educating them on the impact our energy consumption has on the planet, and ways to be more energy efficient.
The next event at the Center will be on Friday, September 15 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. where guests will explore science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) with First Robotics.
