BERLIN, Conn. (April 9, 2019)  The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced today that Eversource has received its 2019 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award in Connecticut for continued leadership in energy efficiency and commitment to the ENERGY STAR program.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by the EPA and DOE for our energy efficiency efforts in Connecticut,” said Eversource Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer Penni Conner. “Our energy efficiency programs and services are helping our customers better manage their energy. ENERGY STAR is a great partner in this effort, and we will continue to work together to provide our customers with the tools necessary to save money and energy.”

Eversource was recognized for its delivery of a variety of programs and services – in-home energy-improvement service, Home Energy Solutions; customer use of ENERGY STAR-certified lighting and appliances; and new construction and municipal benchmarking programs.

In addition to its recognition in Connecticut, Eversource was awarded the Sustained Excellence Award for its energy efficiency work in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

The company – along with fellow Energize Connecticut partner utilities United Illuminating, Connecticut Natural Gas and Southern Connecticut Gas – will be recognized by the EPA and the DOE at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on April 11.
