Connect and Energize Your Distributed Generation System to UI's Electric Grid

Distributed Generation involves an energy generator which is connected to the electric grid. The generator produces energy from a variety of sources including, but not limited to, photovoltaic arrays (solar panels), wind turbines, co-generation units and micro turbines. The energy produced can be consumed by the end-user or supplied back to the electric grid.

UI customers can receive permission to connect and energize their Distributed Generation system to the Electric Distribution System, UI’s electric grid, by applying for approval through an interconnection application process. UI reviews each interconnection application to ensure that the proposed generator can be safely and reliably interconnected to UI’s Electric Distribution System. UI also offers tools to help assess options for your solar project.
